Workshops – Choreography
UKCA Currently offer three Choreography workshops:
Pom Dance Choreography
Cheerleading Choreography
Street Cheer Choreography
Workshop Duration: 3 hours
Each participant will receive a certificate of completion
Cost: £50 per person
If attending two workshops on the same day, the total amount payable is reduced to £95 per person
Pom Dance Choreography
Includes:
- Skill/Talent Identification
- Planning and Plotting a Routine
- Music Selection and Developing themes
- Where to source inspiration from
- Musical and sound effect Interpretation
- Charting Music and Routines
- Visual Effects-which to use and how to use them effectively
- Transitions and Formations plotting

- Seamless Choreography
The workshop is a mixture of theory and practical work, so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear
Suitable for coaches who have previously attended the Cheerleading Basic Skills Course.
It will help build confidence and develop choreography skills.
May also be useful for coaches wishing to strengthen their skills when choreographing the dance section of Cheerleading routines
Coaches without the previous qualification are welcome but it is recommended to have some Dance or Cheerleading experience or knowledge.
Cheerleading Choreography

- Tricking the eye of the judges/audience
- Highlighting skills/talent
- Planning and structuring Cheerleading routines
- What the judges are looking for
- Combining and choreographing arm motions in a new and creative way
- Building and choreographing pyramids
- Choreographing tumbling sections
- Maximising points on the score sheet
- Formations and dynamic Transitions
- Charting music and Routines
- Helpful hints and ideas – what’s hot and what’s not!
- Understanding score sheets
- Best use of performance area
The workshop is a mixture of theory and practical work, so please wear appropriate clothing and footwear
Suitable for coaches who have previously attended the Cheerleading Basic Skills and Basic Stunts Course and wish to develop their choreography skills specifically for Cheerleading.
It will help build confidence and develop choreography skills.
Especially beneficial for Dance coaches wishing to cross over into choreographing Cheerleading routines.
Street Cheer Choreography:

- Visual Effects-which ones to use and how to use them effectively

- What the judges are looking for

- How to sharpen a routine
